Greetings from Council 2280 of the Knights of Columbus.
This website option is meant to inform St. Michael Gibsonburg and St. Mary Millersville Parish members of our council's activities and encourage increased participation from inactive council members, as well as encourage new membership. Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to Catholic men 18 years or older, and in good standing with the Church. Understandably, some knights participate solely for the many advantageous insurance benefits the organization offers, while others must honor commitments to family first. Still, we encourage any brother knight whose availability allows, to rejoin us at any time. The council holds periodic fundraising events to support pro-life organizations, such as Right to Life and Heartbeat. These breakfast events are open to the public and parish members are encouraged to spread the word about them to the rest of the community. As an organization, we are committed to service in our community, addressing the needs of people in sudden unfortunate circumstances and community assistance projects. These projects have also included cleaning up yards and building entrance ramps at the homes of elderly people. Additionally, we keep a faithful devotion to Our Lady, particularly through the recitation of the Holy Rosary, which we say in the sanctuary at St. Mary’s prior to meetings. The Rosary begins at 7 pm on the first Thursday of the month. The meeting then moves to the St. Mary Parish Center around 7:30 pm.
